Dear Members and Friends of the Northern California Chapter,

As we begin the 2008 fiscal year I am honored to serve as President and work with a dedicated and talented Board of Directors. This year, we will deliver a broad array of continuing education through relevant monthly programs and special events that meet the needs of our growing membership. Our Mission is to enable career enhancement, professional development, education and networking opportunities that add useful and immediate value to you.

This is your Chapter! I encourage you to take advantage of programs, events, and educational opportunities, and seek out one of our many committees. Our committees are always looking for new ideas and new people, so please consider joining one that interests you. Our committee chairs are here today and would love to talk to you: Joe Hamilton chairs the finance committee, Richard Pollack and Sean Prasad co-chair membership, Luigi Sciabarrasi & Doug Sharpe co-chair programs, Denise de Ville chairs sponsorship, Susan Curran & Elizabeth Monti co-chair special events, Lou Galiano chairs communications, and Leslie Thompson chairs community reinvestment. Committees are the life blood of the Chapter. They are the best way to make new and lasting connections with fellow members and ensure our Mission remains relevant, so please get involved!

Our management plan for the year is to focus on improving our Chapter operations so we can effectively and efficiently communicate to the membership, deliver quality programs, and increase the visibility and participation of our sponsors. To that end, we are excited about the kickoff of our new Sponsorship Program, which will enable us to have a predictable cash flow. Many thanks to our Inaugural Annual Chapter Sponsors, who include:

Signature Partners ($15,000): Alfa Tech Cambridge Group, Corporate Care, Herman Miller, Jones Lang LaSalle, Pivot Interiors, and XL Construction.

Premier Partners ($7,500): CB Richard Ellis, Cornish & Carey, Ellerbe Becket, Gensler, HOK, Interface Flooring, Skyline Construction, SideMark, BCCI Construction and Webcor Builders.

Sustaining Partners ($2500): Sares Regis, POLLACK architecture, Reel Grobman, Turner Construction, Teknion, and Perkins + Will.

Again, thank you very much for your leadership and support!

Last, the Board extends its sincere thanks to Steve Hargis, outgoing President and Dianna Wright, Administrative Director, both of whom are retiring from the Board after six years of dedicated service to our Chapter. They will be missed, but we are glad to report that both Steve and Dianna will remain connected to our Chapter leadership. Steve will join the Chapter Advisory Board, and Dianna will be serving on our finance committee. Thank you for your continuing work on behalf of the Chapter.

I look forward to seeing all of you at our many events over the coming months. It is going to be a great year!

Chris Chandlee
